The two-story brick building was built in 1890 and used until 1973 and is one of only four Florida courthouses built before 1900. Historic Preservation & Restoration 1894 Clay County Jail Restoration Project Brief The 1894 Clay County Jail was in use until 1972. It is the second oldest, still standing jail in the state of Florida, with St. Augustine’s Old Jail being the first/oldest. The building was constructed with one-foot-thick brick walls and features sixteen (16) jail cells of various sizes with a Maximum Security wing on the second floor. New Construction Green Cove Springs City Hall Project Brief This 23,000SF new City Hall for the City of Green Cove Springs replaced the existing QiSiSana Building in dilapidated condition. Elements of the old Mediterranean style hotel were recalled in the design for the new City Hall. The prominent west face has become a city landmark along the main boulevard.
